Tailboard 5X7 View Camera, no maker identification on the wood or the lens
Listed is a 5" X 7" tailboard view camera. It is made of a fine blond wood that has a couple of cleaning stains but is otherwise in beautiful condition. There are no markings on the camera or on the lens other than the number 45357 pressed on the inside of the ground glass carrier. The folding back is held rigid by a sliding wood panel that is part of the tailboard. The brass shutter works but is erratic and needs adjustment. The bellows are in excellent condition and appear light tight. One observer has speculated that the camera appears to be French, I have no other information on it.
